Remember: Volunteers at school MUST check in at the front office and wear a volunteer badge while at the school. This policy ensures the safety of your children.
If you have any questions about volunteering, please ask your class teacher or contact The Network Volunteer Coordinator Erika Fox or Volunteer Liaison Lisa Haney.
1. Fingerprint Scanning
Parents need to print out fingerprinting form from the UDA first. If you do not have the UDA form, your fingerprints will not go into the UDA clearinghouse. LiveScan services are currently available on a walk in basis at either the San Diego County of Education's office in San Marcos or Linda Vista. Locations can be found on their website. Two forms of ID are required at your appointment. Payment must be done via a money order paid to San Diego County of Education (SDCOE).
2. Tuberculosis (TB) Testing
The San Diego Unified School District requires that all persons who are with school children be tested and found to be free of tuberculosis. A tuberculin test is valid for four years. You can get the test from your physician or at pharmacies. Many of the CVS Minute Clinic offer them for approximately $40.
3. Field Trip Requirements
In addition to the above requirements, to become a field trip driver for UDA class trips you must have a valid driver’s license, current registration and insurance on your vehicle. You will need to bring the proper paperwork as proof to Kimmie in the front office. Additionally, please be sure the students you are driving have the proper car or booster seat. Here is an overview of the new restraint law.
