Welcome to Ms. Henderson’s 4th grade class!
I couldn’t be more excited to get the 2014/2015 school year underway at UDA! Here is a bit of information about myself so you can get a slight idea of what is to come.
I was raised in Iowa and naturally have a love for the Midwest and corn on the cob. This also means I value good manners and respect for our environment, each other, and oneself. After high school, I attended the University of Iowa (Go Hawkeyes) with a degree in History. During my time at Iowa, I spent a summer as a camp counselor in Brussels, Belgium. After that, I knew I wanted to be a teacher, and the rest is history!
My love for travel has taken me all over the world, including Hong Kong, Europe, Mexico and many regions of the United States. Once graduating from college, I moved to Phoenix Arizona and spent several years teaching contained behavior rehabilitation classrooms at the elementary, middle, and high school level. Last year, I moved to San Diego, began teaching at UDA, and couldn't be happier!
Other than traveling, I love to tell jokes, sing songs, play games and play sports, paint, read, craft, hike, bike, jog, boat, volunteer, cook, shop, do nice things for others and live life to the fullest! I’m eager to open my classroom door, learn the interests of incoming students and to have a great school year. See you soon!
